Let's face it. The AIR 9, Niner’s lightweight aluminum hardtail, has always been capable. So, how do we make that capability even better? On one hand, we maintain the excellent qualities of tried and true hydroformed aluminum from Niner. Light and nimble, lively and fresh, the AIR 9 has plenty of strength to power your pedals.
Then, apply our [R]evolution geometry that allows the rider to comfortably balance the bike position, elevating the riding experience. Add Boost 148 spacing because tire and wheel options are a good thing. Enhance it with internal dropper post routing and you’ll make one powerful bike even more robust.
Roll it custom. Roll it single speed. Comfortable enough for all-day rides and fast enough to race, the new AIR 9 handles whatever you throw at it. Engineered genetically? Maybe. But it’s definitely fun to ride.

This modern alloy has been tried and tested. Working with aluminum and other alloys for over a decade, we take pride in our expertise. The hydroformed AIR 9 frame maximizes all material properties to harmonize strength and comfort in a durable package.
This bike with a 120mm fork and spacious 29x2.4-inch (or 27.5x3.0") tires is suitable for any trail. It's optimized for modern trail riding, long days in the saddle, and good times.
Trail Country Geometry
Blurring the lines between modern trail bike geometry and traditional all-mountain geometry, the AIR 9 occupies a niche we affectionately call "trail country." If you mix long pedal rides, sharp climbs, leisurely descents, and spicy technical sections, you'll love what we've done here. Trail country geometry means modern trail manners when they're most needed, without sacrificing efficiency or agility.
In the roomy cockpit, reaching short stems is easy, allowing for quick handling and maneuverability to blast through rock gardens and carve tight corners. The steep 74-degree seat angle lets you climb on top of the BB and pairs perfectly with a short 430mm chainstay for cranking the pedal with maximum efficiency. And, of course, the slack 68-degree head tube angle and long wheelbase ensure stability and autonomy – confidence when hitting the steepest lines.
